Ingredients

  • 960 ml water
  • 4 to 6 black tea bags (Ceylon tea preferred)
  • 150 g sugar
  • 120 ml condensed milk
  • 120 ml evaporated milk
  • 60 ml coconut milk (optional, for extra creaminess)
  • 400 g ice cubes

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a pot, then take it off the heat.
  2. Add the tea bags and let them steep for about 3 to 5 minutes, depending on how strong you want it.
  3. Remove the tea bags and add the sugar to the warm tea. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  4. Let the tea cool, then chill it in the fridge for at least 1 hour.
  5. Mix the condensed milk, evaporated milk and coconut milk in a small bowl.
  6. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour the chilled tea over it.
  7. Slowly pour the milk mixture over the tea so it gathers on the surface before you stir, which gives a nice layered look.
  8. Stir well before drinking.
