Cơm sườn is a Vietnamese rice dish with pork ribs in a marinade of soy sauce, honey, and garlic. You sear the ribs and finish them in the oven until they are caramelized and lightly sweet. Serve them with jasmine rice, herbs, and lime.

Ingredients
- 4 pork ribs
- 300 g jasmine rice
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 tsp five-spice powder
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (such as cilantro, mint), for garnish
- 1 lime, cut into quarters
Instructions
- Wash the pork ribs and pat them dry.
- Mix the soy sauce, honey, garlic, and five-spice powder in a bowl to make a marinade.
- Marinate the ribs in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
- Cook the rice according to the package instructions.
- Sear the marinated ribs in a pan with the vegetable oil over medium heat, 5 minutes on each side.
- Put the ribs in the preheated oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for 30 minutes, until fully cooked.
- Arrange the cooked ribs on the rice.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve with lime quarters.
