Snack

Dalgona is a traditional Korean snack made of caramelized sugar and stamped with a pattern. This tasty and simple treat became known worldwide through the series "Squid Game".
Dalgona (달고나), Korean honeycomb sugar candy

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 pinch baking soda

Instructions

  1. Melt the sugar in a small pan over medium heat until it turns liquid and golden.
  2. Once the sugar has melted, take the pan off the heat and quickly stir in the pinch of baking soda. The sugar will foam up and change color.
  3. Immediately pour the mixture onto parchment paper and press it flat.
  4. Optionally, press a mold gently into the candy to stamp the pattern before the sugar hardens.
  5. Let the dalgona cool until firm, then carefully peel it off the parchment paper.
