Ingredients

  • 100 g dried gosari (fernbrake shoots)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame seeds
  • 2 scallions, finely chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak the gosari in cold water for at least 8 hours, until swollen.
  2. Bring the soaked gosari to a boil in a large pot of fresh water and cook for 30 minutes, until soft.
  3. Drain the gosari and rinse them under cold water to remove excess bitterness.
  4. In a large bowl, mix the cooked gosari with the soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, scallions, garlic, sugar and salt.
  5. Let the dish marinate for at least 30 minutes so the flavors can develop.
  6. Before serving, bring the gosari namul to room temperature, or serve it cold.
