Ingredients

  • 200 g mung beans, soaked overnight
  • 100 g sugar
  • 50 ml water
  • 50 ml vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp matcha powder (optional, for color)

Instructions

  1. Soak the mung beans in water overnight.
  2. Drain the soaked mung beans and blend them into a fine paste.
  3. Bring the water and sugar to a boil in a pot until the sugar has dissolved completely.
  4. Add the mung bean paste and the oil and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the bottom of the pot.
  5. If you like, stir in the matcha powder to give the cake a green color.
  6. Pour the mixture into an oiled mold and smooth the top.
  7. Let the cake cool, then chill it in the fridge for at least 2 hours until firm.
  8. Cut the set cake into equal pieces and serve.
