Main course
For Zhen Zhu Nai Cha Fan you mix jasmine rice with the ingredients of bubble tea: black tea, milk and tapioca pearls. You eat the rice warm and sweet, drizzled with condensed milk, as a dessert or sweet breakfast.

Ingredients
- 200 g jasmine rice
- 280 ml water
- 150 g cooked tapioca pearls
- 120 ml milk
- 60 ml black tea (strongly brewed)
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 60 ml sweetened condensed milk
- Optional: fruit or nuts for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the jasmine rice thoroughly and drain.
- Bring the water to a boil in a medium pot. Add the washed rice and simmer on low heat until the water is absorbed and the rice is soft.
- While the rice cooks, brew the black tea strong.
- Mix the cooked tapioca pearls with the sugar, milk and black tea in a large bowl.
- When the rice is cooked, stir in the salt and let it cool slightly.
- Pour the sweet tea and milk mixture over the warm rice and stir well.
- Drizzle condensed milk over the rice and top with tapioca pearls.
- Garnish with fruit or nuts if you like and serve warm.
