Mugwort tteok (ssuktteok) is a Korean rice cake made from glutinous rice flour and mugwort powder. The mugwort turns it green and gives it a slightly bitter, herbal aroma, and the sugar adds light sweetness. Eat it at celebrations or as a snack with tea.

Ingredients
- 125 g glutinous rice flour
- 50 g sugar
- 8 g dried mugwort powder (about 1 tbsp)
- 240 ml water
- 1 pinch of salt
- Cooking oil for greasing
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the glutinous rice flour, mugwort powder, and salt thoroughly.
- Bring the water to a boil in a medium pot and dissolve the sugar in it.
- Stir the dry ingredients into the hot sugar water until a sticky mass forms.
- Reduce the heat and cook the mass for about 10 minutes, stirring constantly, until it is thick and elastic.
- Turn the mass out onto an oiled surface and let it cool.
- Once it is warm enough to handle, divide it into equal pieces and shape them into small cakes.
- Arrange the finished tteok on a plate and serve as you like.
