Ingredients

  • 200 g rice flour
  • 500 ml water
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 200 g freshly shredded coconut
  • 100 g palm sugar
  • 150 ml water

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil and add the rice flour and a pinch of salt to form a smooth dough.
  2. Put the dough in a putu mayam press or a spaetzle press and press the noodles directly onto a steamer insert.
  3. Steam the noodles for about 5 to 7 minutes, until translucent.
  4. Meanwhile, heat the palm sugar with 150 ml water, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved completely and a syrupy consistency forms.
  5. Divide the steamed noodles among plates, sprinkle with the fresh shredded coconut and pour the warm palm sugar syrup over them.
