Putu Mayam is a traditional Southeast Asian sweet of steamed rice flour noodles served with fresh grated coconut and sweet palm sugar. It is a popular snack in Malaysia and Singapore.

Ingredients
- 200 g rice flour
- 500 ml (2 cups) water
- 1 pinch of salt
- 200 g fresh grated coconut
- 100 g palm sugar
- 150 ml (2/3 cup) water
Instructions
- Bring the water to a boil, then add the rice flour and a pinch of salt and stir to a smooth dough.
- Put the dough into a putu mayam press (or a potato ricer or noodle press) and press the noodles straight onto a steamer basket.
- Steam the noodles for about 5 to 7 minutes, until translucent.
- Meanwhile, heat the palm sugar with 150 ml water, stirring until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture turns syrupy.
