Tangsuyuk is Korean-Chinese battered pork with a sweet and sour sauce. You coat strips of tenderloin in egg and cornstarch, fry them until crisp and add a sauce of vinegar, sugar and soy sauce with vegetables and pineapple. The meat stays juicy inside, and the sauce tastes fruity and tangy.

Ingredients
- 500 g pork tenderloin, cut into strips
- 60 g cornstarch
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 l oil for deep-frying
- 1 carrot, cut into thin strips
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 onion, sliced
- 80 g pineapple chunks
- For the sauce:
- 4 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 240 ml water
- 2 tbsp cornstarch, dissolved in 4 tbsp water
Instructions
- Dip the pork strips in the beaten eggs, then roll them in cornstarch until evenly coated.
- Heat the oil in a deep pot and fry the meat in batches until golden brown and crisp. Drain on paper towels.
- For the sauce, bring the sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup and water to a boil in a small pot.
- Add the dissolved cornstarch and stir until the sauce thickens.
- Briefly stir-fry the vegetables in a wok or pan, then add the fried pork and the pineapple chunks.
- Pour the sauce over the meat and vegetables and toss well. Heat briefly until everything is hot.
- Arrange the tangsuyuk on a plate and serve right away.
