Main course
Tie Ban Niu Rou is marinated beef with bell pepper that you sear on a hot iron plate and serve on it. The meat keeps sizzling at the table and stays juicy, and the marinade of soy sauce, oyster sauce and pepper adds flavor.

Ingredients
- 500 g beef, cut into thin slices
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
- 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 piece of ginger, finely chopped
- 3 scallions, cut into rings
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into strips
- 1 green bell pepper, cut into strips
- Oil for frying
- A few drops of sesame oil, to garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the beef in a bowl with the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, sugar, black pepper, garlic and ginger. Let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
- Heat the oil in an iron plate or a heavy pan.
- Add the marinated beef to the hot iron plate and sear it quickly until almost cooked through.
- Add the red and green bell pepper strips and keep cooking until the vegetables are soft.
- Garnish with scallions and a few drops of sesame oil.
- Serve hot right away.
