Trà Đá is a refreshing Vietnamese iced tea for hot days. You brew this simple drink from green or black tea and serve it the traditional way, over lots of ice.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter (4 cups) water
  • 2-3 tea bags (green or black tea)
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar or honey (optional)
  • Lemon slices (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a kettle.
  2. Put the tea bags in a large teapot and pour the boiling water over them.
  3. Let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you want it.
  4. Remove the tea bags and let the tea cool to room temperature.
  5. Pour the cooled tea over a generous amount of ice in a pitcher.
  6. If you like, add sugar or honey to taste and stir well.
  7. Garnish with lemon slices and serve right away.
