Ingredients

  • 400 g jasmine rice
  • 560 ml water
  • 25 g dried shiitake mushrooms (about 8)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 4 scallions, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 piece ginger (about 2 cm), finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Soak the shiitake mushrooms in warm water for about 30 minutes, then drain and slice them.
  2. Cook the rice with the water according to the package instructions.
  3. Heat the sesame oil in a large pan and briefly fry the garlic, ginger, and scallions.
  4. Add the shiitake mushrooms and fry for about 5 minutes, until soft.
  5. Add the cooked rice and stir well.
  6. Add the soy sauce and sugar and mix everything well. Fry for another 5 minutes, until the rice is hot and slightly crisp.
  7. Taste again before serving and add more soy sauce or sesame oil if needed.
