Dessert
Yeot is a traditional Korean sweet made from glutinous rice or malted barley. This version of the recipe sticks to a simple preparation with sugar, which is shaped into firm, sweet sticks similar to candy canes.

Ingredients
- 400 g sugar
- 240 ml water
- 120 ml corn syrup
- 1 tsp vinegar
- Butter for the baking sheet
Instructions
- Grease a large baking sheet with butter and set it aside.
- Combine the sugar, water, corn syrup and vinegar in a heavy pot over medium heat.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally.
- Keep cooking without stirring until a candy thermometer reaches 150 °C.
- Take the pot off the heat and carefully pour the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Wait until the mixture is firm enough to handle, then shape it into small sticks with buttered hands.
- Let the sticks cool completely and harden before serving.
